Adler formulated a new Fatliquoring Polymer, ADELOIL DM, a specific fattening for the reduction of chromium VI (without using of specific antioxidants that mask the chrome) and the reduction of COD in wastewater.
This decision has to be seen as part of an environmental policy that aims at respecting the environment and in response to requests by the tanning industry related to ecology and environmental impact issues.
Another reason that led Adler to conceive this “fattening technology” was the need to get the best performance of leather. In fact most of the tanneries are using sulphited rapeseed plant, fish and synthetic greases. Even though they are able to determine the specific features of leather they cannot, however, to fully meet the different specifications required by big brands.
The fattening can also be used on vegetable tanned leathers or wet-white, with excellent results, especially on vegetable tanning which greatly increases the light fastness of the finished leathers.
ADELOIL DM has a strong softening power, giving the skin a silky touch and never greasy. It ‘also indicated in leather and tassel workings where it helps to maintain a firm grain and lubricated.
The analysis and tests carried out by Adler’s experts showed that the worked in crust skins have a high light fastness (Xeno test) of 4.5/5, an excellent result at the Tropical test (5), have a low specific weight and are totally free of phthalates.
ADELOIL DM is a finishing unit with a specific molecule and should not be considered a classic sulphited, sulfonate, maleic ester, or phosphoric ester. In different applications you can add from 1 to 2% of ADELOIL IC/2, ADELOIL BZ or SOLOIL 100, depending on the characteristics of the finished item to be obtained; it also has low extractability to solvents and its use allows exhaust baths with low levels of COD.
From now joins the i’Adeloil DM/C range, which is equivalent to all the features of Adeloil DM but additionally has been studied the formula to have a good seal to foggin, therefore, suitable for all body types with different desired tanning
